The Academy is divided into Sections of special interest for the purpose of pursuing its objects. There is a Section of Medicine, a Section of Surgery, a Section of Obstetrics, a Section of Pathology, a Section of Biomedical Sciences, a Section of Otolaryngology, a Section of Anaesthetics, a Section of Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine, a Section of Odontology, a Section of Paediatrics, a Section of Dermatology, a Section of Radiology, a Section of the History of Medicine, a Section of Psychiatry, a Section of Neurological Sciences, a Section of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, a Section of Ophthalmology, a Section of General Practice, a Section of Genito-Urinary Medicine, a Section of Bioengineering, a Section of Health Care Informatics and a Section of Healthcare Management, Section of Pharmaceutical Medicine and Section of Interns. RAMI SECTION OFFICERS Each Section has a President, a Secretary and a Council. No Fellow may serve on more than two Section Councils. The councils of the Sections of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pathology, Biological Sciences, and General Practice consist of the President of the Section and ten Fellows, one of whom acts as the Secretary of the Section. The councils of the remaining Sections consist of the President of the Section and six Fellows one of whom acts as Secretary of the Section.The longest elected Fellow on each Section Council retires each year and is ineligible for re-election to that Council for one year. Each Section Council conducts the affairs of its Section in accordance with the objects of the Academy and subject to the Rules of the Academy and the ruling of the General Council. Each Section Council may fill vacancies among its own membership until the next Annual General Meeting. One Member may be elected to each Section Council.
