Dear Members/ Fellows of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland,
 
As a member of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland, you are entitled to access electronic content at SpringerLink for the Irish Journal of Medical Science. To access this secured content, you need to have an individual account. Please visit http://www.springerlink.com and log into your individual account, register, or reset your password to enter your unique token access code for online access.  Tokens are posted to members in March and give access for one year, April – March  to all fully paid-up members and Fellows.
 
How do I login with my existing account? If you have an existing account, please visit http://www.springerlink.com and click on “Log in” on the left recognition panel. Please enter your unique SpringerLink username and password. After you have logged in, you will come to your personalized homepage. On your homepage, you will find an area where you can enter your token access code from above. You will then come to a confirmation page where a direct link to your publication will appear.
 
How do I register a new account? If you are not a registered user of SpringerLink, please go to http://www.springerlink.com and click on “Register” on the left recognition panel. You will then enter your name, email address, and create a username and password that must be unique. Please make all login credentials alpha-numeric for security purposes. After you have registered, you will come to your personalized homepage. On your homepage, you will find an area where you can enter your token access code from above. You will then come to a confirmation page where a direct link to your publication will appear.
 
I forgot my existing Username or Password? Please go to http://www.springerlink.com and click on “help” on the left recognition panel. You will then enter your username or email address and click on “Go”. If a matching account is found, you will receive an email notification with a link to reset your password on SpringerLink. After clicking on this hyperlink you will be prompted to reset your password.  Once you have reset your password, you will come to your personalize homepage. On your homepage, you will find an area where you can enter your token access code from above. You will then come to a confirmation page where a direct link to your publication will appear.
 
In the future, when you return to SpringerLink and log in, you will see a Favorites link at the bottom of the Left recognition panel. Clicking on Favorites provides a direct link to your publication(s). You will not need to enter a token again for the year the token covers.

All submissions to the journal must be made through the new online system, Springer, the URL is:  http://ijms.edmgr.com

Please register as an author and follow the directions for submission.  You will receive a Username and Password and this remains the same for any further submissions.

 If you wish to join as a Reviewer please register to   http://ijms.edmgr.com

Please note that as a fully paid-up member of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland you are entitled to access electronic content at Springerlink for the Irish Journal of Medical Science. 
 
The journal publishes quarterly issues and supplements.  The Abstracts presented at various RAMI meetings held throughout the year are published online.
 
Set up your individual account now.  Click into http://www.springerlink.com

design IJMS Doctor Awards 2009
The Irish Journal of Medical Science Doctor Awards 2009 will be presented by the M&C group, in association with the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland, to doctors who have had clinical research papers published in an indexed journal anywhere in the world between July 2007 and July 2009.  They are open to all those involved in medical research.
 
This is the tenth year of the IJMS Doctor Awards.  An adjudicating panel from the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland will choose the three finalists in each category.  The aim of the IJMS Doctor Awards is to recognise excellence in clinical research by all medical doctors working in Ireland.
 
Categories : Cardiology, Endocrinology, General Practice, Oncology, Pain/Anaesthesia, Psychiatry, RAMI (Section entries); Respiratory Medicine, Rheumatology, Surgery, Best paper published in the Irish Journal of Medical Science and the Lifetime Achievement Award     
 
RAMI (Section entries) This is a new category which is available to all Members and Fellows of the Royal Academy of Medicine who have had a paper published in an indexed journal between July 2007 - July 2009.  The submitting author must be a paid-up member/Fellow of RAMI.  Sections include :
Sections of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pathology, Biomedical Sciences, Epidemiology and Public Health Medicine Otorhinolaryngology (Head & Neck Surgery), Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Odontology, Dermatology, Radiology, History of Medicine, Psychiatry, Neurological Sciences, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation, Ophthalmology, General Practice, Genito-Urinary Medicine, Bioengineering, Healthcare Informatics & Healthcare Management.
 
All submissions should be posted to

Closing date for entries, Friday 28th August 2009 by 12 noon
 
  • All entries must be accompanied by six reprints of the published paper;
  • All entries must be accompanied by a recent head and shoulders colour photograph;
  • Each entry form must contain the mobile phone number, address and email of the applicant;
  • The applicant must ensure that they are able to attend the Awards ceremony (Thursday 26th November 2009, Mansion House). And if they are unable to attend must nominate someone to attend in their place.
